Karen’s artistic adventures include; wall murals,  professional sign painting and logo creation as well as a variety of imaginative arts and crafts projects. Many pieces feature Karen’s love of nature and Native American influences.   Her art has adorned everything from t-shirts, trucks and motorcycles to boats, bumper stickers and CD covers.   Karen’s beautiful pen and watercolor illustrations are featured in the children’s book,  Sadie the Bear.

 

In 2014 Karen began a new project - Paint the Town - painting classes for artists of every ilk.  Beginning with a handful of brushes and a trunk full of easels, Paint the Town fast became the talk of the town.  In just a few months Karen moved into her own studio in downtown Harrison, Maine.  In 2023, after years of phone calls for house painters, Karen renamed her business, The Painted Turtle Art Studio.

 

An endless bundle of energy,  Karen is also the Maintenance Director at Camp Wigwam in Waterford, Maine where she lends her artist’s touch to logos for camp events, theatre set designs and creative art projects for the kids in various mediums.   Her painting classes have become a favorite event for kids and parents alike.

 

Karen attended the Butera School of Art in Boston, majoring in Commercial Art. She currently lives in Waterford, Maine in the home she and her husband Geoff built.
